1. U-Profiles: The Standard for Showers and Wall Connections
Classic U-shaped enclosure profiles are the first choice when glass needs to be visually neatly connected to a wall or floor. They are highly suitable as a shower partition profile in bathrooms, as they can compensate for slight tolerances in the masonry or tiled backsplash. The glass is usually fixed by wet sealing (silicone) or special rubber lips.

2. Glass Clamping Profiles: Maximum Stability through Dry Glazing
When it comes to fall-protection glazing, freestanding glass partitions, or outdoor applications, professionals reach for the glass clamping profile. Here, the glass is not glued but massively mechanically clamped via a two-part profile system and wedge gaskets (dry glazing). This not only enables the highest static values but also a fast, clean glass replacement in the event of breakage.

What is the difference between a U-profile and a glass clamping profile?
A simple U-profile often serves as an enclosure or slip protection and is frequently wet-sealed (e.g., with silicone) or fitted with a simple push-in gasket. A glass clamping profile, on the other hand, mechanically compresses the glass via a wedge gasket (dry glazing), offering extremely high stability for freestanding office or outdoor partitions.
Which shower partition profile is right for walk-in showers?
For classic walk-in showers, we recommend slim U-profiles made of wet-room-suitable (anodized) aluminum. They offer a delicate appearance, conceal uneven tile edges, and are easy to seal in sanitary areas.
Can the partition profiles also be installed without drilling?
In many cases, especially in sanitary areas on tiles, lightweight partitions can be installed by surface-gluing U-profiles (with special mounting adhesive). However, for heavy partition systems or freestanding glazing with wind loads (outdoors), we strongly recommend our screwable floor and glass clamping profiles.
