Glass doors - keep the perspective

Glass doors are characterized by their light transmission and transparency. At the same time they create a spatial and acoustic separation. The room appears open and bright through a glass door. In addition, glass doors bring a modern style to your everyday life.

What type of door would you like?

Sliding doors

Sliding doors are space-saving alternatives to revolving or swinging doors. Sliding doors are pushed in front of the wall via a running rail and do not stand in the room.
Sliding doors can be used for the living area, the outdoor area and for the transition between indoor and outdoor areas. In private facilities, sliding glass doors are most commonly used in:

  • Living spaces
  • Bathroom/toilet
  • Kitchens
  • Accessibility areas

The use of a glass sliding door is also ideal in the public sector. Here, for example, room dividers in open-plan offices, medical practices or wellness facilities.

The glass sliding door convinces above all with its strong advantages:

  • Extremely small space requirement
  • Closing is almost silent
  • Rollators and aids are easier to use thanks to accessibility
  • Transparency or completely opaque

Swing doors

The swing doors are also often referred to as swing doors or saloon doors, which is due to their special function. Swing doors can be opened in both passage directions, whereby they swing through accordingly and have no stop. After opening, the swing door swings back into the closed position, in which it is usually held by springs. In this way, the swing door does not have to be closed manually, it swings back automatically.

The advantage of the swing door is that you can also open the door with your shoulder or knee and foot. It should therefore be used in places where you don't have a free hand. Therefore, the use of the swing door is ideal, for example, in the catering industry, where the kitchen and the restaurant area are separated by a swing door. But it can also be an advantage to use a swing door in your own dining room.

Folding doors

In addition to sliding doors, folding doors are also particularly space-saving. The individual wings of the folding door (also called folding sliding door) are connected to each other with hinges and thus enable the eponymous effect.

Hinged doors / revolving doors

The single-action door, or technically correct revolving door, is the most common type of door indoors. This wing door is fixed on one side in the door frame, the frame, and opened or closed in one direction with the help of hinges. The door falls shut on the lock side.
Almost all front doors, but also classic room doors in apartments, hotels or bathrooms are single-action or revolving doors.

Frame doors

A frame door is also referred to as a door with a surrounding frame. It is usually used in residential and commercial construction. The frame door  consists of two side parts and a head part, which are connected with angles.

The advantages of glass doors at a glance

  • high light transmission
  • Room separation with an open atmosphere
  • space-saving assembly
  • Accessible
  • Establish niches
  • Can be used as a room divider
